The stock market was struggling to hold onto its Tuesday rally.

The S&P 500 was up 0.2%. The Dow was up 99 points, or 0.2%. The Nasdaq Composite was up 0.6%.

The stock market has been dealing with a case of bad breadth all day, but things deteriorated even more shortly after 11 a.m. ET. Roughly 204 stocks in the S&P 500 were rising; the Invesco S&P 500 Equal Weight ETF was down 0.1%.
