Guinea’s military junta leader, General Mamadi Doumbouya, has created an institution that will be responsible for managing the constitutional referendum as well as upcoming political elections.
The Directorate General of Elections, or DGE, will also be tasked with establishing and revising biometric electoral register, state-broadcaster Radio Television Guineenne reported late Saturday, citing a decree from Doumbouya’s office.
