Frenchie’s journey has reached an untimely end.
The supes-fighting member of The Boys, played by Tomer Capone on the series of the same name, met an untimely end during season five’s May 13 penultimate episode.
While Frenchie and his love Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara) are experimenting with how they can take down Homelander (Antony Starr) after the superhero kills the President, disbands Congress and abolishes The Seven, their plans are ruined when the sociopathic supe catches them in the act.
Frenchie tells Kimiko and Sister Sage (Susan Heyward) to hide while he confronts Homelander, but unfortunately the radiation trap they were devising to kill the supe proved ineffective when it mattered most. After an off-screen fight leaves Frenchie bleeding out, he and Kimiko share one final kiss before the vigilante succumbs to his injuries.
It’s a heartbreaking ending—one Tomer himself hasn’t yet been able to watch.
“It’s too close, man. I’m too attached,” he told Variety in an interview published May 13, “It’s the longest character I’ve ever had in my career. Frenchie has been there for five seasons, and at the moment it feels too close to watch.”
