Fans’ first look at the highly-anticipated fourth season of Ted Lasso is officially here, confirming the premiere date of August 5 and giving a preview of what to expect when eternal optimist Ted (Jason Sudeikis) returns to London.
This time, Ted is taking on a new challenge: coaching a second division women’s football team. As for how the residents of Richmond upon Thames feel about his return?
“Welcome back, Coach,” one resident, wearing an AFC Richmond scarf tells Ted in the April 28 teaser. “Too bad you’re coaching a bunch of girls, ya wanker.”
But if the first three seasons of Ted Lasso have taught viewers anything, it’s that it only takes a little belief to change hearts and minds.
Other moments teased in the minute-long preview include a seemingly awkward reunion between exes Keeley Jones (Juno Temple) and Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein) in front of Higgins (Jeremy Swift), an apparently rekindled romance for Rebecca (Hannah Waddingham) with magnetic foreigner Matthijs (Matteo van der Grijn).
