The Emmy Award-winning series’ will return to Apple TV on Aug. 5
Ted Lasso is back on the field at Nelson Road in the new trailer for the highly-anticipated fourth season of the hit Emmy-winning Apple TV show.
Season Four of the series finds Jason Sudeikis reprising his titular role as the beloved coach, a slight plot twist given the character’s apparent departure at the end of the third season in 2023. Now, Lasso is back at AFC Richmond, where he’s been tasked with leading the club’s women’s team out of the second division.
A new teaser offers a glimpse at the show’s signature mix of humor and poignancy, though it’s largely a montage of on- and off-field hijinks and tender moments set to the Mumford & Sons song “Rubber Band Man.” One of the few bits featured in the clip is a scene at the end where Lasso is meeting with team owner Rebecca Welton (played by Hannah Waddingham) and politely bumbles through a ridiculous request: “FYI, the ETA is ASAP — PP. As soon as possible, pretty please.”
Along with Sudeikis and Waddingham, Season Four of Ted Lasso will feature the returns of Emmy Award winner Brett Goldstein, Juno Temple, Brendan Hunt, and Jeremy Swift. New additions to the ensemble are Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack, Faye Marsay, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, Abbie Hern, and Grant Feely.
During its original three season run, Ted Lasso enjoyed tons critical acclaim awards season success. The first season became the most Emmy Award-nominated comedy series ever, and the show went on to secure rare back-to-back wins for Outstanding Comedy Series. Development of the fourth season was first announced on March 14, 2025, two years after the third and previously rumored final season aired in 2023.
Behind the scenes, Sudeikis executive produces alongside Hunt and a seasoned creative team, with Emmy Award winner Jack Burditt joining under a new overall deal with Apple TV+
