The Recording Industry Association of America has announced its annual tally of 2025 gold and platinum certifications for albums and singles, with Taylor Swift’s “Life of a Showgirl” and Alex Warren’s “Ordinary” topping the lists, respectively.
“RIAA is proud to recognize the artists and their label partners who defined the year with music that exemplifies human artistry and reached remarkable milestones. From Taylor Swift and Alex Warren who earned this year’s top honors, to all the artists who have been certified this past year, we wrap 2025 with excitement for all the ways music has impacted people’s lives,” said RIAA Chairman & CEO Mitch Glazier.
Swift’s album surpassed 5 million RIAA-certified units for the highest certification and top album of the year, while Alex Warren’s 3-times platinum “Ordinary” was top single.
EJAE, Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami, the singing voices of HUNTR/X from “KPop Demon Hunters,” had three precious-metal songs: the double platinum “Golden,” and two platinum songs, “How It’s Done” and “What It Sounds Like.”
There was one other multi-platinum album, Cardi B’s “Am I the Drama?”; ;ther platinum albums from the year include Warren’s “You’ll Be Alright, Kid”; Drake and PartyNextDoor’s “$ome $exy $ongs 4 U”; the “KPop Demon Hunters” soundtrack; Lady Gaga’s “Mayhem”; Sabrina Carpenter’s “Man’s Best Friend” and Tate McRae’s “So Close to What.”
There were two multiplatinum singles, “Golden” and Drake’s “Nokia,” along with 17 platinum singles, four of which came from the “KPop Demon Hunters” soundtrack.
Elsewhere, Drake earned the most certified titles with 8, including his year-end highest “Nokia” and seven songs from “$ome $exy $ongs 4 U.”
