Sheryl Lee Ralph’s lineup for her 35th annual Divas Simply Singing! gala will include performances by Andra Day, Mickey Guyton, Jenifer Lewis and Loretta Divine.
The Diva Foundation event takes place Nov. 1 at the Taglyan Cultural Complex in Hollywood and will also feature performances by Lalah Hathaway, James Pickens, Gina Taylor-Pickens, legendary vocalist Freda Payne and rising R&B artist India Shawn.
“This gala is more than just a celebration—it is a powerful call to action,” Ralph said Friday. “For 35 years, we have unwaveringly committed to our mission through song, purpose, and service. This year’s Divas Simply Singing! will boldly honor our rich history, continue our impactful efforts, and strategically focus on advancing health equity for the future.”
This year’s honorees include Jewel Thais-Williams, recipient of the Ivory Ralph Legend of Distinction Award; Dr. Maya Green, honored with the Health Advocacy Award; Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis Jr., recipients of the AARP Crossover—Living Legends Award; and Lula Washington, recognized with the Artistic Activism Award for her impact in dance and cultural expression.
The 2025 gala is made possible by the support of presenting sponsor Gilead Sciences. Additional performers and special guests will be announced in the coming weeks.
Ralph launched the Diva Foundation in 1990 to help fight HIV/AIDS stigma through arts and community programs. Inspired by friends who the Emmy-winning “Abbott Elementary” star lost to AIDS, the foundation has raised more than $5.5 million for at-risk populations, including those with HIV/AIDS and other vulnerabilities.
