Sabrina Carpenter delivered one of the biggest surprises inside the Met Gala, as Stevie Nicks joined her on stage to sing a duet of Fleetwood Mac’s song “Landslide.”
The song, which Nicks wrote for Fleetwood Mac’s eponymous 1975 album, was recently featured in the finale of “Stranger Things.”
Before she took to the stage, Carpenter arrived at the Met Museum’s veritginous carpeted staircase in a Dior slit tulle dress by Jonathan Anderson which was intended to pay homage 1954 Audrey Hepburn film “Sabrina.”
The singer then kicked off the evening with a solo show, performing a few of her own hits from her 2024 album “Short n’ Sweet,” including “House Tour,” to “Espresso” and “Please, Please, Please.”
As well as performing at the star-studded fashion benefit, Carpenter was there in her capacity as a member of the host committee alongside Teyana Taylor, Doja Cat, Lisa and Misty Copeland, among others. Vogue chief Anna Wintour chaired the event together with Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman and Venus Williams. Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and his wife Lauren Sánchez Bezos were honorary hosts, having bankrolled the event.
Carpenter is rolling off Coachella, where she also formed a duet with Madonna to sing “Like a Prayer.” The pair have also teamed for the single “Bring Your Love” which will be including in Madonna’s new album “Confessions II.”
