Starting on Friday, June 5, the Nintendo Switch 2 is getting a $50 price increase. The jump comes ahead of the busy summer season, so it’s best to get the gaming console now before the price goes up.

Right now, you can get the Nintendo Switch 2 for $449 at Walmart. However, come June 5, the same console is going to be $499. If you want to save $50, it’s recommended that you add to cart before the price increase goes into effect.

Released in June 2025, the Nintendo Switch 2 broke sales records upon its debut, as the console marched to selling more than 20 million units over the past year. Its success comes from its upgraded hardware compared to the original with a larger 7.9-inch HDR (High Dynamic Range) display, enhanced 4K Ultra HD graphics and wide selection of games available.

The Nintendo Switch 2 is great, but you’ll also need games to play, so you can really see how much the console can handle, compared to the original.
