
French inflation edged higher but stayed well below the European Central Bank’s 2% goal, supporting the case that price pressures in the euro zone are under control.
June’s reading came in at 0.8%, up from the more than four-year low of 0.6% recorded in May, statistics agency Insee said Friday. The median estimate in a Bloomberg poll of analysts was for prices to rise 0.7%.
