Figure surges in Wall Street debut, valuation tops B

Figure Technology Solutions made a blockbuster Wall Street debut on Sept. 11 as its stock opened at $36 per share, well above the $25 pricing set ahead of its Nasdaq listing.

The jump pushed the blockchain lender’s valuation to $7.6 billion, up from the $5.3 billion valuation implied at pricing.

The offering included more than 23 million new shares and nearly 8 million sold by existing holders. By early afternoon, Figure’s stock was trading around $31.88, according to Yahoo Finance.

Figure’s IPO marks another strong debut for a crypto-linked company this year, following Circle and Bullish, signaling renewed investor appetite for blockchain finance.

“We were actually contemplating going public last year … it wasn’t the most hospitable environment,” co-founder Mike Cagney told CNBC. “That’s changed a lot.”
