Denza Philippines began the official rollout of its B5 and B8 plug-in hybrid SUVs today (April 23, Philippine time) following the brand’s local debut at the Manila International Auto Show 2026.
The move marks a formal entry into the premium new energy vehicle segment with a focus on off-road capable electrified platforms. The distribution phase launched under the brand’s Adventure Electrified campaign targeting the intersection of luxury SUV demand and the country’s growing infrastructure for electrified mobility.
The Denza B5 is a midsize SUV that utilizes the DMO Super Hybrid platform. It features a 1.5 liter turbocharged engine paired with a dual motor system producing a combined 425 kW and 760 Nm of torque. Equipped with a 31.8 kWh BYD Blade battery and an 83 liter fuel tank, the B5 maintains an NEDC rated range of 975 kilometers. The B8 serves as the flagship full size SUV offered in Dynamic and Premium trims. It employs a 2.0 liter engine and dual motor configuration yielding 450 kW and 760 Nm of torque. The B8 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds. With a 36.9 kWh battery and a 91.5 liter tank, its total range is rated at 1,040 kilometers.
Both models are equipped with mechanical hardware intended for all-terrain use, including four-wheel drive and front and rear electronically controlled locking differentials. The B8 features the DiSus P Intelligent Damping Suspension, which adjusts damping force at each wheel to manage body control over uneven surfaces.
The vehicles include specialized maneuvering software such as the Leopard Turn function designed to reduce turning radii in confined spaces. Standard drive modes include configurations for mud sand rock and water wading.
Adam Hu, Country Head of BYD and Denza Philippines, stated the launch serves to capture consumers seeking the functional efficiency of new energy vehicles without compromising on the utility of traditional internal combustion engine SUVs. Denza Philippines established the price point for the B5 at P3,498,000 ($60,310). The B8 Dynamic is priced at P4,698,000 ($81,000), while the B8 Premium retails for P5,098,000 ($87,896).
The brand is conducting a Denza Arena Customer Test Drive Event from April 24 to 26. The event utilizes a technical course featuring steep inclines and water wading obstacles to demonstrate the platform’s structural and powertrain capabilities. A ceremonial handover for the first 30 units was completed at the start of the event, signaling the beginning of regular retail operations for the brand in the Philippine market. The inclusion of the Denza App further supports the rollout, allowing owners to monitor charging and vehicle status via mobile devices.
