Bowers & Wilkins’ partnership with McLaren dates back a decade, but some things get better with time. Earlier this year, the audio brand was announced as the official partner of McLaren’s F1 team, after years of outfitting McLaren’s Automotive branch. It’s a quintessentially British partnership, with both companies hailing from South East England.
To celebrate, Bowers & Wilkins released a new McLaren edition of its latest Px8 S2 headphones ahead of the Las Vegas GP, with Lando Norris on hand during the unveiling at the McLaren F1 team’s pop-up showroom in Vegas. Like the previous B&W McLaren editions, the Px8 S2 features McLaren’s signature anthracite grey and papaya color scheme.
BxW Px8 S2 McLaren Edition
The McLaren accents are subtle, with the brand’s wordmark on the headband and the “swoosh” logo on the inside of the earcups. The headphones are available now on the Bowers & Wilkins site, and retail for $899.
The standard edition of the B&W Px8 S2, released in September, feature small but meaningful upgrades to the first-generation Px8. The upgraded noise-canceling is competitive with some of the top-tier brands in the space, while the audio quality is up to B&W’s high standard. The comfort was meaningfully improved, too, with the headphones shedding several grams for a lighter fit that doesn’t fatigue after hours of wear.
The two brands have teamed up on numerous launches before, with B&W releasing a McLaren-branded edition of the Pi8 earbuds, Px8 headphones, and the Zeppelin speaker. At $899, these are a steeply expensive pair of headphones; the McLaren branding adds a full $100 to the price over the Px8 S2 headphones.
As for McLaren’s racing division, the team’s F1 drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri have racked up 390 and 366 points, respectively, putting them atop the F1 leaderboard ahead of the Las Vegas Grand Prix. Saturday’s race airs at 5:00 p.m. ET on ESPN.
