Bad Bunny took home the final prize at the 2026 Grammys on Sunday night, landing album of the year for DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS.
The star appeared stunned when presenter Harry Styles said his name, covering his face and crying in his seat before slowly taking the stage. He emotionally gave the majority of his speech in Spanish but said briefly in English, “I want to dedicate this award to all the people who had to leave their homeland, their country, to follow their dreams.”
In the category he was up against Justin Bieber (Swag), Sabrina Carpenter (Man’s Best Friend), Clipse, Pusha T & Malice (Let God Sort Em Out), Lady Gaga (Mayhem), Kendrick Lamar (GNX), Leon Thomas (Mutt) and Tyler, The Creator (Chromakopia). He makes history with DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS becoming the first Spanish-language album to win in the album of the year category.
On top of winning the night’s biggest award, Bad Bunny also won for best música urbana album and best global music performance for “EoO.” During his música urbana win, he addressed the current political climate in the U.S., telling the room, “Before I say thanks to God, I’m going to say ICE out.”
“We’re not savages, we’re not animals, we’re not aliens, we are humans and we are Americans,” he continued. “The hate gets more powerful with more hate. The only thing that is more powerful than hate is love. So we need to be different. If we fight, we have to do it with love. We don’t hate them. We love our people. We love our family, and that’s the way to do it with love. Don’t forget that, please. Thank you.”
It’s a very strong to the month for Bad Bunny, who next weekend will headline the Super Bowl halftime show.
