After a 10-day mission, the Artemis II spacecraft is returning to Earth — and several TV networks and streaming platforms are carrying the event live on Friday.
According to NASA, the Artemis II mission is scheduled to splash down off the coast of San Diego at approximately 8:07 p.m. EDT (5:07 p.m. PDT) on Friday. Following splashdown, recovery teams will retrieve the crew using helicopters and deliver them to the USS John P. Murtha.
All told, the spacecraft’s crew is expected to travel a total of 695,081 miles from launch to splashdown. The spacecraft passed within 4,070 miles of the Moon’s surface during its closest approach.

- NASA+: Watch for free at plus.nasa.gov or on NASA’s YouTube channel. NASA has been providing continuous coverage of Artemis II throughout the mission. A separate livestream of the splashdown will start at 6:30 p.m. ET/3:30 p.m. PT.
- Netflix, Prime Video, Peacock, and HBO Max are each hosting the NASA livestream on their respective platforms, beginning at 6:30 p.m. ET/3:30 p.m. PT.
- CBS News will present “Artemis II Return To Earth,” a live one-hour special, starting at 7:30 pm ET on the CBS networks, CBS News 24/7 and cbsnews.com.
- NBC News will present live coverage of the mission on its website at this link.
- CNN ‘s pecial “Mission to the Moon: Artemis II Returns” coverage is scheduled to air 7-11 p.m. ET on the TV network; CNN also is hosting NASA’s livestream on its website at this link.
- ABC News is presenting nonstop live the Artemis II reentry, splashdown and recovery sequence beginning 7 p.m. ET live online at this link (no sign-in required). In addition, ABC News’ coverage of the mission will air on the ABC network from 7:30-8:30 p.m. ET (4:30-5:30 p.m. PT).
