Stocks Bounce Back as Trump Softens China Trade Rhetoric


Wall Street bought the dip from the latest tariff selloff after President Donald Trump seemed to dial down the temperature in his latest trade spat with China.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 630 points, or 1.4%. The S&P 500 was up 1.6%. The Nasdaq Composite was up 2%.

The U.S. bond market was closed in observance of Columbus Day.
