Winona Ryder Joins Jenna Ortega

There’s a mysterious and spooky new cast member heading to Nevermore Academy. 

And when Winona Ryder steps onto the screen in Wednesday season three alongside Jenna Ortega and the rest of the cast, it is sure to be nothing short of all together ooky. 

Winona’s upcoming guest star role—details of which have otherwise been kept under wraps—was confirmed by series director and executive producer Tim Burton, who said in a statement to E! News, “I am so happy that Winona has joined us, she fits right into this world. And she’s a dear friend. I always feel lucky to work with her.”

Indeed, this will not be the first time Tim and Winona have collaborated. Not only did Winona get her breakout role in the original Beetlejuice, released in 1988, but the pair have also worked together on Edward Scissorhands, Frankenweenie and 2024’s Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, which also starred Jenna. 

In fact, the idea of reuniting Jenna and Winona after their onscreen charisma in the sequel film is part of what made the Stranger Things actress a must-add for Wednesday’s third season.
