And while her DWTS run certainly helped her sashay over to Broadway, it was the relationships formed that Whitney cherishes most from her time on the show.
“You grow real friendships and real connections with these people,” Whitney said of her experience in a Nov. 20 Instagram video. “You learn so much about yourself and people who lift you constantly, and you challenge yourself. You just feel so loved.”
And while she didn’t take home the Mirrorball trophy, the mom of three has always had her eye on the prize. In fact, she admitted during season three of SLOMW that she only returned to the hit Hulu series—despite recurring drama with her fellow MomTokers—to score a spot in the ballroom.
“After last season, I did decide to step away from the show, but I never quit MomTok,” she said in a confessional interview. “I was always in MomTok, still a part of that group. I just really needed a break, but then I heard from my team Dancing With the Stars was going to cast someone from The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, and that’s a motivator. I’ll come back for that.”
