“When Calls the Heart” has been renewed for Season 14 at Hallmark Channel.
Based on Janette Oke’s novel of the same name, “When Calls the Heart” follows Elizabeth Thatcher, a school teacher and single mother, as she adjusts to her evolving hometown and the different people who enter her life.
The period piece stars Erin Krakow, Kevin McGarry, Jack Wagner, Chris McNally, Pascale Hutton and Kavan Smith. Original cast member Lori Loughlin will reprise her role of Abigail Stan, appearing in six of the 12 episodes.
“Since the series’ debut in 2014, the character of Abigail Stanton was a fan favorite and beloved by the Hearties,” Michelle Vicary, head of programming at Hallmark Media, said in a statement. “At its core the Hallmark brand is about hope, positivity and connection, which is also the central theme of ‘When Calls the Heart.’ We felt that Season 14 was the right time to continue Abigail’s story with her return to this beloved series.”
Production will begin next year with an anticipated return in 2027.
