What To See In Theaters

Following the Memorial Day box office record set by “Lilo and Stich” and “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning,” a new slate of blockbusters and indie films are hoping to drum up excitement in May about what the summer movie season has in store.

The widest release for the last weekend in May is “Karate Kid: Legends,” revisiting the long-running franchise. Ralph Macchio and Jackie Chan return with Ben Wang as a kung fu prodigy who moves to New York.

Wes Anderson’s latest, “The Phoenician Scheme,” stars Benecio del Toro and Mia Threapleton, while horror fans will want to catch “Bring Her Back” from the Philippou brothers.

Check back each week to find the latest releases in theaters, from major wide releases to niche independent titles.
