Vestas Halts Poland Blade Factory as European Demand Wanes

Vestas Wind Systems A/S halted development of a major factory in Poland to produce blades for offshore wind turbines as higher costs from materials and interest rates dim the growth outlook for the technology in Europe.

“The development is paused due to lower-than-projected demand for offshore wind in Europe,” a spokesperson for Vestas said in a statement. “Vestas continues to invest in local manufacturing footprint where offshore wind market volume and certainty allow.”
