This couple was going to have a Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce-inspired baby name—whether fans liked it or not.
After Haley Richardson and Robert Dillon went viral for naming their daughter Kelce Taylor-Grace, they admitted her full name also has a nod to former Kansas City Chiefs tight end Tony Gonzalez.
“TG in the middle—Tony Gonzalez was my first favorite football player,” Robert explained to Today in an interview published July 28. “So we kind of snuck that in there as well.”
And while the couple’s choice has received mixed reactions online, they’re both still in love with their daughter’s name. In fact, the duo came up with the moniker “right off the bat,” with Dillon explaining they were inspired how Travis’ uplifted the Chiefs with his arrival 13 years ago.
“We felt like the name was appropriate because we would like her to grow up to have his spirit of helping others,” Robert explained, “and making sure his community is better off when he leaves than when he got there.”
