Chelsea Handler Roasts Leonardo DiCaprio Over Yacht Getaway in Monologue at Critics Choice Awards
Timothée Chalamet is reigning supreme in the game of love.
Indeed, as the Marty Supreme actor won the trophy for Best Actor during the 31st annual Critics Choice Awards—hosted for the fourth year in a row by Chelsea Handler in Santa Monica, Calif., Jan. 4—he publicly declared his love for girlfriend Kylie Jenner for the first time.
“I’ll just say thank you to my partner of three years,” Timothée said from stage. “Thank you for our foundation. I love you.”
He added, “I couldn’t do this without you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Thank you so much.”
The 30-year-old —who was nominated alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in One Battle After Another, Joel Edgerton in Train Dreams, Ethan Hawke in Blue Moon, Michael B. Jordan in Sinners and Wagner Moura in The Secret Agent—also praised his director Josh Safdie.
“You made a story about a flawed man with a relatable dream, and you didn’t preach to the audience about what’s right and wrong,” he continued. “We should all be telling stories like that. So, thank you for this dream.”
Ahead of the first awards ceremony of the season, Timothée had detailed his personal thoughts on his performance in Marty Supreme, as well as his acting career as a whole.
“This is probably my best performance,” he said last month during an interview with Margaret Gardiner, “and it’s been like seven, eight years that I feel like I’ve been handing in really, really committed top-of-the-line performances.”
