The Match Factory has revealed a slate of international distribution deals for “All That’s Left of You,” the Sundance title by Cherien Dabis, which is set to have its European premiere this July in the Special Screenings section at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival.
The film, described by Variety as “searing, honest and soul-crushing,” celebrated its world premiere in January in the Premieres section of the Sundance Film Festival.
The Match Factory has closed deals in key territories including Italy (Officine UBU), Spain (Karma Films), Benelux (September Film Distribution), Switzerland (Trigon-Film), Turkey (Bir Film), Latin America (Cine Canibal), and Indonesia (PT Falcon). Negotiations for additional territories are underway. A North American deal is currently in negotiation. Distribution in Germany and Austria has been secured independently with X Verleih, while French rights have been acquired by Nour Films.
The third feature film from Palestinian-American filmmaker Dabis is a moving tale that blends the personal and the political, according to one review. The Guardian said it was “beautifully textured and deeply moving.”
After a Palestinian teen gets swept up into a West Bank protest, his mother recounts the family story of hope, courage and relentless struggle that led to this fateful moment.
The film is produced by Thanassis Karathanos, Dabis, Martin Hampel and Karim Amer, with Janine Teerling and Marios Piperides as co-producers. It is a production of Pallas Film, Twenty Twenty Vision Filmproduktion, Displaced Pictures and Nooraluna Productions, co-produced by AMP Filmworks and ZDF/ARTE.
It is made with the support of Eurimages – Council of Europe, Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung, Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg and the Cyprus Deputy Ministry of Culture, in association with OSN+, Media City Qatar, Medan Productions, Baird Films, National Creative Industries Group, Ten X Group, Film Clinic and Doha Film Institute. It is executive production by the Red Sea Fund.
