And yet Rue wanted more information with regard to that prediction, wondering, “How do you know that?”
Teyana’s answer wasn’t “because I said so,” but close.
“Because a mother knows, OK?” she told Rue. “You are going to be everything—you’re everything right now. And when you get older you’re going to collect every single trophy, ’cause it’s already yours and it’s already written.”
Rue still quibbled with the 35-year-old’s logic, pointing out, “Mommy, if you win every time, that means you’re going to win every day, even when I grow up and I get nominated.”
To which Teyana could only reply, “I love you.”
“I love you, too,” Rue said.
