 SXSW Adds Joey Power’s Rom-Com Love Language


Love Language, a comedy from Joey Power, is set to screen at SXSW in the festival’s Narrative Spotlight section.

The logline for the film reads: “An aspiring author with a side hustle writing wedding vows for other people reconnects with her long-time crush, only to learn he is the fiancé of one of her new clients.” The ensemble stars Chloë Grace Moretz, Anthony Ramos, Manny Jacinto, Isabel May, Lukas Gage and Billie Lourd. 

The rest of the cast includes Chloe Fineman, Bobbi Althoff, Morgan Jay, Zach Zucker, Stephen Schneider, Dan Perrault, Christian A. Pierce and Marchant Davis.

Ari Lubet produced the project for 3 Arts Entertainment, along with Colin Jost and Jeff Grosvenor for No Notes Productions. Bert Hamelinck and Allison Hironaka produced for Caviar, which also fully financed the film. Executive producers include Michael Sagol for Caviar, Joey Power, and Tyson Bidner.

CAA Media Finance is repping domestic sales. Protagonist is handling international sales.

Love Language joins a SXSW line-up that includes Boots Riley’s I Love Boosters, Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick’s Family Movie and Ready or Not 2. The festival will run from March 12 to March 18.
