The Governor of Utah took the mic Friday with a dramatic statement, “We got him.”
Utah Governor Spencer Cox announced Robinson’s dad reached out to a youth pastor, who contacted police with information that Robinson assassinated Charlie Kirk. As we reported, Robinson had confessed to his dad but was resisting turning himself in. The dad then contacted the youth pastor.
Family told investigators Robinson had become more political recently and was “full of hate” and “spreading hate.”
During the news conference, authorities revealed some of the inscriptions on the bullet casings, which included “Hey fascist, catch,” “Bella Ciao,” and “If you read this you’re gay, LMAO.” As for the “Bella Ciao” reference … it signifies the Italian resistance against the Nazis.
Investigators interviewed Robinson’s roommate, which allowed them to see messages sent by his phone that chronicled his action plan, including where he ditched his weapon. Specifically, the Discord message said the rifle would be wrapped in a towel and left in a bush. The rifle was indeed found wrapped in a towel in a wooded area.
