Stephen Colbert is lining up his next career move (jokes included).
Two weeks after CBS announced they canceled The Late Show after 33 years on TV, the series’ current host shared insight into what his next business venture might be.
During The Late Show With Stephen Colbert‘s July 28 episode, Colbert asked for some pointers from guests Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers, hosts of the incredibly popular podcast Las Culturistas.
“I’m going to need a gig soon,” the 61-year-old quipped, “so sell me on podcasting. Is it fun?”
Colbert’s flirtation with entering the podcast space was warmly received by the Fire Island costars, who joked that the comedian could push them off of TIME magazine’s list of the 100 best podcasts of all time.
As Rogers replied, “You have to know we were probably 100 on that list. So, you start one, we’re getting bumped. Like almost certainly.”
Jokes aside, Rogers shared his best piece of advice for Colbert if he does, indeed, start his own podcast: “Just be yourself.”
