‘South Park’ Slams ICE After Co-Opting Cartoon to Recruit Agents

A DHS spokesperson thanked South Park for “drawing attention to ICE law enforcement recruitment,” even though the Trump administration called the show irrelevant

After Donald Trump’s tiny wee-wee was the focus of a recent South Park episode, a White House spokesperson dismissed the Comedy Central show as “fourth-rate” in a statement to Rolling Stone. Yet earlier today, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) used a screengrab from that same show — one that depicted its ICE officers as mindless minions driving patrol cars — to promote job applications for the agency.

DHS’ post on X Tuesday pushed out a screenshot of the South Park cartoon ICE agents riding in patrol cars and a link to their recruitment website with no further messaging.

A DHS spokesperson later followed up and thanked South Park for “drawing attention to ICE law enforcement recruitment” in a statement to The Hill, furthering its recent tactics of hiring more officers to carry out the Trump administration’s widespread arrest, detention, and deportation of migrants.

“We are calling on patriotic Americans to help us remove murderers, gang members, pedophiles, and other violent criminals from our country. Benefits available to new ICE recruits include an up to $50,000 signing bonus, student loan forgiveness, and retirement benefits,” read the DHS spokesperson’s response, along with the link to apply.

South Park quickly clapped back in a post of their own, writing, “Wait, so we ARE relevant?” along with the hashtag “#eatabagofdicks” — a jab at the White House’s earlier complaint about the show’s season premiere. “Just like the creators of South Park, the Left has no authentic or original content, which is why their popularity continues to hit record lows,” White House spokesperson Taylor Rogers said in a statement last week. “This show hasn’t been relevant for over 20 years and is hanging on by a thread with uninspired ideas in a desperate attempt for attention.”

While the upcoming episode with the ICE storyline hasn’t even aired yet (it comes out tonight), the Trump administration will no doubt be tuning in to the show they insist is not longer relevant.
