Saturday’s “SNL U.K.” host Jack Whitehall spent the majority of his monologue making gags about his upcoming wedding, set to take place next week.
The British comedian and actor — recently seen in Peacock comedy drama “The ‘Burbs” — claimed that his nuptials to model Roxy Horner were “out of control” in terms of how much it was costing him.
“The flowers, the canapes, the band … we only went and booked Scott Mills as the wedding DJ. I’m not seeing that deposit again,” he said.
Mills, one of the BBC’s best-known DJs, was sacked earlier this month after allegations over his personal conduct, and was later revealed to have been interviewed by the Metropolitan Police in 2018 in connection with sexual offense allegations involving a teenage boy.
Whitehall then made a jab at Prince Andrew, claiming that his own big day was “like planning a royal wedding, literally in that the whole thing could be ruined if my uncle turns up.”
Keeping with the topicality but shifting to the Middle East, he joked that he did manage to save some money on the honeymoon and “got an unbelievable deal on two weeks narrow boating down the Straits of Hormuz, with a free fireworks display every night.”
Whitehall ended the monologue by claiming that his night hosting “SNL U.K.” was the same night his fiance was on her hen do. “So I’m here with you cracking gags and she is currently in Soho getting dry humped by one of Magic Mike.”
Whitehall marks the fourth “SNL UK” host and the last before the first series of the show enjoys a week-long hiatus before restarting on April 25.
