First, it was the ‘Wirkin’Walmart‘s now-infamous Birkin bag dupe that broke the internet last December, selling out in a matter of days. And now? Say hello to the ‘Woka’, a running shoe that’s raising eyebrows and sprinting off Walmart’s shelves.

Manufactured by American footwear brand Avia, the Woka is a budget-friendly sneaker that bears a striking resemblance to the ever-popular Hoka running shoes. And yes, the internet has noticed. Some call it a blatant dupe; others call it a savvy steal. Either way, these kicks are trending everywhere (just open TikTok or Instagram Reels).

Just like the Wirkin, they sold out almost immediately after their debut. But there’s good news: Walmart has restocked them, and as of this writing, sizes for both men and women are still available for now.

The Woka shares the same chunky silhouette as its high-end lookalike: think dad-core meets Cloud 9 and has cushioned soles, retro-inspired colorways, and bounce-back energy that’ll make you reconsider your $145 Hokas. But most notably, the side paneling is nearly identical. Line them up side by side, and you’d need to do a double-take to spot the difference. Spoiler: the font with Hoka’s signature logo is the only major giveaway.

Now, here’s the kicker (pun fully intended): while Hokas can cost you upwards of $145, the Woka rings in at a budget-friendly $24.98 for their lowest-priced shoe.

“Saw these on TikTok as Hoka dupes, and figured 25 bucks is worth a shot. They’re much cheaper than Hoka, and feel just as good,” said one Walmart customer.

“Avia has knocked it out of the park! These shoes have been on daily 10-mile runs, and I can’t get enough of them. More comfortable and durable than my high-end joggers and comparable to Hoka and On Cloud in support and breathability,” said another Walmart customer.

Hoka has yet to comment publicly on their new doppelgänger, but this isn’t the first time we’ve seen fashion giants grappling with dupes. Just last month, Steve Madden and Adidas faced off over a sneaker that allegedly looked a little too much like Adidas Sambas. Adidas argued trademark infringement over their iconic three stripes, while Madden fired back, claiming no one can “monopolize common design features.”

Whether you love dupes or hate them, they’re deeply ingrained in the fashion industry and aren’t going anywhere anytime soon. And one thing is for sure: these Avia Wokas are selling out really fast, so you better act now before we have another Wirkin situation on our hands.
