Romy Reiner and Jake Reiner are preparing to say goodbye to their parents.
Over one week after Rob Reiner and Michele Reiner were murdered in their Los Angeles home, their children shared that they are in the midst of planning a funeral, with their spokesperson telling People Dec. 22, “They will share information about a memorial service honoring their parents at a later date.”
In the meantime, the siblings are privately grieving the loss of the movie director and photographer, who were fatally stabbed in the early hours of Dec. 14, according to authorities.
“Jake and Romy Reiner remain grateful,” their rep added, “for the outpouring of love and support they have received.”
The pair—whose 32-year-old brother Nick Reiner is accused of killing Rob and Michele following a fight at Conan O’Brien‘s Christmas party Dec. 13—previously asked the public to remain respectful as they mourn.
“Words cannot even begin to describe the unimaginable pain we are experiencing every moment of the day,” Jake, 34, and Romy, 27, said in a Dec. 17 statement obtained by NBC News. “The horrific and devastating loss of our parents, Rob and Michele Reiner, is something that no one should ever experience. They weren’t just our parents; they were our best friends.”
