Rapper Offset was shot near a popular casino in Florida on Monday, according to multiple outlets.
The former member of Atlanta-based hip-hop trio Migos, whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, was shot near the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, his rep confirmed to Rolling Stone.
“We can confirm Offset was shot and is currently at the hospital receiving medical care,” the rep wrote in a statement. “He is stable and being closely monitored.”
Details surrounding what led to the shooting weren’t immediately available. The Hollywood Reporter has reached out to the rapper’s rep and the local police department for more information.
Takeoff, who was another member of the Migos group, was fatally shot in November 2022.
Offset rose to fame with Migos, which was formed in 2008 with Quavo and Takeoff. Their tracks “Versace” and “Bad and Boujee” propelled them to stardom before they later split up. Offset also found success as a solo artist, including with his hit songs “Ric Flair Drip,” “Clout” (feat. Cardi B) and “SAY MY GRACE” (feat. Travis Scott).
The rapper has six children, including two daughters and a son, with his estranged wife, rapper Cardi B. He also had two sons and another daughter from previous relationships.
More to come.
