Variety will welcome acclaimed filmmaker Paul Feig as the keynote conversation for its 2026 Power of Law Breakfast, presented by City National Bank.
Patricia L. Glaser, partner at Glaser Weil, will be honored with the Variety 2026 Power of Law Award, recognizing her as one of the nation’s most successful and influential trial attorneys while also working extensively to support the community through philanthropic efforts.
Feig will talk about his vision for fan-favorite filmmaking with Matt Donnelly, Senior Entertainment Writer, Variety.
A DGA Award-winning and Emmy-nominated filmmaker, Feig has built a career defined by sharp, character-driven female-centric comedy and bold genre storytelling, with his films grossing more than $1.6 billion worldwide. His credits include “Bridesmaids,” “The Heat,” “Spy,” “A Simple Favor” and its global No. 1 sequel “Another Simple Favor,” “Last Christmas,” “Ghostbusters” and Lionsgate’s “The Housemaid.” Feig recently directed “Another Simple Favor,” starring Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick, which became Prime Video’s second most-watched original thriller of all time. He followed that success with “The Housemaid,” starring Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried, which surpassed $395 million at the global box office, marking the most successful film of his career to date and prompting a sequel which is currently in pre-production.
As head of Glaser Weil’s Litigation Department, Glaser has led high-stakes cases for major studios, global brands, financial institutions, high-profile talent, entertainment executives and production companies. Her leadership has shaped the firm into a powerhouse, with a litigation team of more than 60 attorneys delivering market-leading successes across complex commercial and business, intellectual property, employment and defamation disputes, among others.
Glaser is an engaged leader in Los Angeles’s cultural and creative communities, serving on the Board of Directors of several prominent arts organizations, including the Los Angeles Music Center Theatre Group and The Geffen Playhouse. Her interest in the arts extends to producing plays and other theatrical pieces. Her leadership positions include serving on the Board of Trustees of AltaMed Foundation, serving on the Board of Governors of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, as vice chair of the Western Region of the American Friends of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and on the UCLA Israel Studies Program Advisory Board. Her philanthropic support spans arts and film — notably the USC Glorya Kaufman School of Dance, the Israel Film Festival, and The Paley Center for Media — alongside causes dedicated to children and families in crisis, healthcare, civil rights, and access to justice.
“At City National Bank, we love celebrating the visionaries who drive the entertainment industry forward,” said JaHan Wang, executive vice president and head of Entertainment & Sports Banking, City National Bank. “Patricia Glaser’s unparalleled legal expertise, trailblazing leadership, and deep commitment to philanthropy make her a true icon in both law and entertainment.”
Together, Feig’s keynote and Glaser’s recognition underscore the intersection of creative vision and legal excellence that defines the modern entertainment industry — making Power of Law one of the most essential gatherings for leaders shaping the business of entertainment today.
“Variety is happy to partner once again with City National Bank for our annual Power of Law Breakfast,” said Variety co-president & publisher Dea Lawrence. “We look forward to bringing together the entertainment industry’s top dealmakers and litigators to engage in dialogue about the most important challenges in our ever-changing industry.”
