Music’s Biggest Night is raising a glass to tequila. Rolling Stone can exclusively announce that Patrón Tequila will serve as the official tequila partner of the Grammy Awards — and debut the awards show’s first-ever official cocktail, The Golden Record.
The Golden Record will be served at the Grammy Awards on Sunday, as well as at many marquee events leading up to the big night. The cocktail was created in collaboration with Daniel Gonzalez, a mixologist from Mexico City’s Licorería Limantour, using its small-batch Patrón El Alto tequila, which blends Extra Añejo, Añejo, and Reposado tequilas. (Missy Elliot helped the liquor brand launch the prestige expression back in 2022.)
“The Grammy Awards celebrate artistry at the highest level, and Patrón’s uncompromising commitment to craftsmanship and quality mirrors that pursuit of excellence,” said Adam Roth, Executive Vice President of Global Partnerships and Business Development at the Recording Academy, in a statement. “From the red carpet to backstage — and audiences at home around the world — we’re excited to toast with The Golden Record as we kick off this spirited new partnership.”
The Golden Record is made with 1.5 oz of Patrón El Alto, 1 oz of Prosecco, 0.5 oz of Tio Pepe Fino Sherry, and 2 oz of pear cordial, finished with a dash of Scrappy Bitters’ bergamot bitters and garnished with three slices of red grapes.
The Patrón–Grammys collaboration feels like a natural evolution after years of the brand being name-checked across modern music — especially in hip-hop and Latin music — as a symbol of liquor luxury. Patrón has been shouted out in songs by Miranda Lambert, Lil Jon, and Taylor Swift, with Hit-Boy and Offset also referencing it on their 2023 track “2live” after visiting the brand’s distillery in Jalisco. In Latin music, the brand has also been a key supporter of Becky G, sponsoring her first-ever Mi Casa, Tu Casa tour in 2023 following her música mexicana releases, and in 2024 hosted a dinner for Troye Sivan after his several Grammy nominations.
“We’re honored to kick off our first year as the Official Tequila Partner of the Grammy Awards,” said D-J Hageman, Vice President of USA, Patrón Tequila, in a statement. “The Grammy Awards represent the most exciting night in music, and Patrón is proud to be there celebrating alongside the artists who make it extraordinary. Our partnership with the Recording Academy allows us to toast the craft, creativity, and passion that define this moment in music.”
Along with The Golden Record, Patrón and Licorería Limantour also concocted two additional cocktails for Grammy week: the Patrón High Note and The Clear Winner.
The Patrón High Note is made with 1.5 oz of Patrón Silver Tequila, 1.5 oz of tomato mango purée, 0.5 oz of Patrón Citrónge Orange Liqueur, and 0.75 oz of lime juice, served in a glass rimmed with Maldon salt and garnished with a mango slice.
The Clear Winner combines 2 oz of Patrón Cristalino with 1 oz of Martini & Rossi Bianco, 0.75 oz of Luxardo Bitter Bianco, and 0.15 oz of Suze Aperitif, finished with a dash of Scrappy’s lime bitters and garnished with a lemon twist.
