Jon Beavers has joined the cast of NBC‘s drama pilot that hails from Dean Georgaris and John Fox, Variety has confirmed. In addition, Jennifer Morrison has come onboard to direct.
Beavers joins previously announced series lead Emily Deschanel and fellow cast member An-Li Bogan in the untitled pilot, which is inspired by the real-life work of internationally renowned expert profiler and author Dr. Ann Burgess.
The official logline for the show states, “Professor Georgia Ryan (Deschanel) is a trailblazing psychologist who challenges the field of criminology by shifting the investigative focus to the victim rather than just the perpetrator in order to uncover the crucial clues that more traditional methods leave behind. Alongside her team, this pioneering expert consults with the FBI to solve the most baffling and elusive cases.”
Beavers will play Will Andover. His character description states, “He was the top profiler in his class at Quantico, but then he had a fall from grace. Now at a crossroads in his career, he desperately needs a win.”
Beavers currently appears in the popular Hulu series “Paradise” in the role of Billy Pace. He also recently appeared in the Oscar-nominated film “One Battle After Another.” His other TV credits include “Animal Kingdom,” “Bel-Air,” and “Sugar,” while his film roles include “Horizon: Chapters 1 & 2” and “Licorice Pizza.”
He is repped by Artium Talent, Untitled Entertainment, and Gang, Tyre, Ramer.
Georgaris and Fox are writers and executive producers on the pilot, with John Davis executive producing via Davis Entertainment. Deschanel will produce in addition to starring. Burgess is a consulting producer, as is Steve Constantine. Morrison will executive produce the pilot in addition to directing. Universal Television will produce.
Deadline first reported Beavers’ casting.
