Grammy nominated artist and actor Omar Apollo has joined forces with alt-pop trio Latin Mafia on a new cumbia single called “Hecho Para Ti” (“Made For You”). The Spanish-language single is co-produced by Tyler Spry (who had a hand in Bad Bunny’s hit “DTMF”), while its accompanying music video was directed by Aidan Cullen and executive produced by Stillz.
The nostalgic, VHS-style video was filmed at the iconic Salón Tropicana in Mexico City. It follows the theme of the song’s narrative, diving into the emotional aftermath of a failed relationship. The song was first performed live during Latin Mafia’s show at Mexico City’s Palacio de los Deportes, when they surprised fans with Apollo and the unreleased preview.
Since signing with Rimas Entertainment (Bad Bunny, Eladio Carrión and Arcángel) in 2024, Latin Mafia — with brothers Milton, Emilio and Mike de la Rosahas — enjoyed a breakout year, including the launch of their first North American tour, “Te Odio y Te Extraño Mucho” (“I Hate and Miss You So Much”).
Latin Mafia’s “Te Odio y Te Extraño Mucho” tour spanned 38 cities, including 17 sold-out shows in the United States and 14 in Mexico. The trek will conclude with a summer performance at the iconic Lollapalooza festival in Chicago on Aug. 3.
Latin Mafia will then appear in Los Angeles on Aug. 5 to be interviewed at the Grammy Museum on for the venue’s “An Evening With…” series. The trio was nominated for best new artist at the Latin Grammys last year.
