The Netherlands has announced a €50 million ($58.5 million) fund to lure top international researchers as US President Donald Trump continues to make sweeping cuts to federally funded science and research.
The so-called Tulip Fund aims to bring fifty researchers to the Netherlands and will pay institutions up to €1 million ($1.2 million) for each person they hire. The fund will be open to all top researchers working outside the European Union, irrespective of nationality.
