Why Sister Wives’ Meri Brown Hasn’t Changed Last Name After Kody Brown Breakup
Meri Brown isn’t ready to let go of her name.
The Sister Wives star, 54, admitted that more than two years after she and Kody Brown broke up for good, she doesn’t plan on changing her last name of 35 years just yet.
“I have had the conversation many times with my best friend and some other people too,” Meri shared on the Sept. 12 episode of the I Do, Part 2 podcast. “Right now, I’m not going to.”
After emphasizing how long Brown has been her last name, as they tied the knot in 1990, she continued, “I only had my other name—my dad’s name—for 19 years.”
Plus, she feels like reverting back to her maiden name of Meri Barber would be a mouthful.
“There’s a lot of R’s in it, and it’s really hard to say,” she quipped. “Brown is a hell of a lot easier.”
And it doesn’t seem like the decision is bound to change anytime soon.
“Me and one of my sisters, we joke about it all the time, because she’s also divorced,” she added. “We’re like, ‘Love you, dad. But we’re not going to go back to the maiden name.’”
