Maluma Pauses Show to Scold Mother Who Brought Baby Without Earplugs

Maluma stopped his Mexico City concert over the weekend to scold a mother who brought her young child to the show without ear protection. The performance was part of the final leg of the artist’s “+Pretty +Dirty World Tour,” which ends on Aug. 16.

“With all due respect… how old are they?” Maluma asked the mother in a video of the interaction shared online. “A year old? Less? A year. Do you think it’s a good idea to bring a one-year-old baby to a concert where the decibels are this fucking high? Where is the sound this loud? That baby doesn’t even know what it’s doing here. Next time, protect their ears or something. For real. It’s heavy. It’s your responsibility. You’re waving them around like they’re a toy. That baby doesn’t want to be there, for real. I’m telling you with all love and respect, now that I’m a father… would never bring them to a concert. For the next time, be a bit more aware.”

Maluma’s “+Pretty +Dirty World Tour,” comprised of 21 shows, kicked off on March 15 in Barcelona, Spain. The final show is set to take place in Guadalajara, Mexico.

Maluma recently made a stop at Baja Beach Festival at Mexico’s Rosarito Beach to headline alongside J Balvin and Don Omar. The event also featured performances from Puerto Rican rapper Young Miko, Brazilian pop star Anitta, Blessd, Rels B, Oscar Maydo, Tito Double P, Cris MJ, El Alfa, Los Tucanes De Tijuana, Arcángel and Wisin.
