The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has accelerated work on its ambitious township project after 2,500 farmers submitted consent letters for 430 hectares of land along IIM Road. The landowners’ agreement marks a crucial step forward in securing land for the housing scheme, according to an LDA press release issued on Thursday.

The authority has already completed registry of 150 hectares, with the fresh farmer consent strengthening its position to launch the housing project. Officials said Naimish Nagar is expected to emerge as a model for planned development in north Lucknow.
Prathamesh Kumar, LDA vice chairman, said the authority has started on-ground development work with plans to open registrations for plots in two sectors by September 2026. “The authority is proceeding simultaneously with land acquisition and infrastructure development to avoid delays,” he said.
Sangeeta Raghav, Nodal officer, said farmers from 18 villages in Bakshi Ka Talab tahsil have shown steady participation, with consent letters being submitted alongside compensation and registry processes. The project requires approximately 1,486 hectares of land in total.
Naimish Nagar will be designed as an integrated township to accommodate nearly two lakh residents. The plan includes wide roads, green belts, parks, schools, hospitals, commercial centres and solid waste management facilities.
The LDA will also upgrade infrastructure in affected villages, including roads, drainage, playgrounds, health centres and community facilities.
