The soundtrack to “KPop Demon Hunters,” which became one of Netflix’s most popular titles ever since dropping in June, is now available on vinyl. The record features nine original tracks performed by the film’s fictional K-pop girl group HUNTR/X and their rival boy band, the Saja Boys.
The film follows HUNTR/X — three idols who balance global stardom and use music to slay their foes and protect their adoring fans. The soundtrack includes “How It’s Done,” which plays during the film’s opening battle scene, and “Golden,” a mid-film performance that doubles as the group’s emotional anchor. The Saja Boys’ “Soda Pop” appears during a PR showdown sequence and takes cues from real-world K-pop aesthetics with a darker lyrical subtext.
Other songs include “Free,” a slower duet that underscores rising tension within the group; “Your Idol,” a track from the Saja Boys that mirrors the film’s commentary on parasocial fandom; and “What It Sounds Like,” which plays during the film’s final act. “Takedown,” the film’s key fight anthem, appears in two versions—one by HUNTR/X and a remix by TWICE members Jeongyeon, Jihyo, and Chaeyoung, which was released as the lead single.
The soundtrack to the animated series has continued to gain ground on both the albums and singles chart, returning to No. 2 on the Billboard 200 this week. Meanwhile, the single “Golden” holds at No. 2 “Your Idol,” by Saja Boys reached the top 10 at No. 9 this week.
The vinyl includes the full tracklist in story order and features production from Teddy Park, Lindgren, Jenna Andrews, and Ian Eisendrath.
