Jenna Bush Hager wasn’t afraid to go after what she wanted.
The Today anchor made a candid confession as she looked back on meeting now-husband Henry Hager during the mid-aughts.
“When I saw my husband, I said ‘Of course the cute one has a girlfriend,’” Jenna—who wed Henry in 2008 after four years of dating—said during a segment on manifesting relationships on Today With Jenna & Friends Jan. 6. “And I in my head I said, ‘I’ll take care of that.’”
Shocked by her confession, guest co-host Matt Rogers quickly asked, “And then what happened to her?”
Jenna, 44, quipped, “That sounded ominous. That sounded like the Texas cheerleader mystery.”
While she didn’t share what happened to Henry’s former girlfriend, it’s evident Jenna ultimately did get the guy, as she and Henry—who share kids Mila, 12, Poppy, 10, and Hal, 6—have been married for 17 years.
