The BFI London Film Festival is set to roll out the red carpet for Noah Baumbach and his latest feature “Jay Kelly.”
The Netflix film — starring George Clooney as a famous movie actor looking back at his life and career — will have its U.K. premiere and be given a gala screening at London’s Royal Festival Hall on Oct. 10. Its world premiere will take place at the Venice Film Festival on Aug. 28.
Alongside Clooney, the all-star cast also includes Adam Sandler, Laura Dern, Billy Crudup, Riley Keough, Eve Hewson, Greta Gerwig, Alba Rohrwacher and Emily Mortimer. Baumbach and members of the cast are expected to attend the U.K. premiere.
“Jay Kelly” follows a famous star (Clooney) and his devoted manager (Adam Sandler) as they embark on a whirlwind and unexpectedly profound journey through Europe. Along the way, both men are forced to confront the choices they’ve made, the relationships with their loved ones, and the legacies they’ll leave behind.
“I’m thrilled and honoured for ‘Jay Kelly’ to be included in the BFI London Film Festival,” said Baumback. “We filmed, as well as edited, mixed, and recorded our score, here in London. Many of our amazing collaborators will be in attendance. It feels like a homecoming even for this New Yorker.”

“Jay Kelly” is released in cinemas on Nov. 14 and Netflix on Dec. 5.
