Ivory Coast President Alassane Ouattara surprised delegates as he shelved his decision to accept the party’s nomination as the presidential candidate for October elections to a later date.
“Concerning my candidacy for the presidential election, I will give an answer in some few days after a thorough reflection,” Ouattara said at the end of a two-day party congress in Abidjan, the commercial hub on Sunday.
