Lucknowites have gone all out to cash in on the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) frenzy. With the state capital hosting Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) matches, the excitement is even more, with hotels, restaurants and nightclubs dishing out a host of drinks and food offers for cricket lovers. We take a look.
Hotel Centrum at its Pendulum joint has come up with a special menu and drink offers. Its general manager Bhagwati Pant says, “Under our Sip, Play and Score offer we have Powerplay beer bucket at ₹1,299, Free Hit unlimited pour for 90 mins at ₹2,499, 20-20 Offer on four cocktails at ₹1,199 besides snacks and mocktails offers as well.”
Businessman Shanu Jaiswal says, “Since LSG matches are happening in the city, pubs are giving lucrative offers to cash in on the market and it’s a win-win situation for cricket fans like us. It’s fun to watch in stadium, but I find it better being with friends and having a relaxed viewing with everything being served on the table. Offers are a bonus.”
Club Momentz at its Neoo Nightclub is offering six beers at the price of four and buy-two-get-three on Indian scotch brands, informs Jugal Sachdeva.
Hazratganj Socials in Lucknow, under its pan-India #DoosraStadium experience, is offering live viewing, mobile cricket game and curated a menu for IPL buffs. “Fans can tuck into the Lucknow Bharwan Galawati, Punjab Sixer Chhole Bhatoore, Bengaluru’s OG Stadium Samosas, Delhi Match Momos, Hyderabad’s OG Haleem Biryani, Rajasthan Ballistic Bhajiyas and more,” tells its spokesperson Divya Aggarwal.
Heritage properties in the state capital, the Oudh Gymkhana Club and Lucknow Golf Club, have put up giant screens. Honey Kakkar, office bearer at both clubs says, ‘We have live grills and beverage schemes offered by the liquor companies in important matches. Trust me, people live watching matches here with friends and families more than in stadium.”
Mickey Nanda from Boho Bar informed us that they have come up with a different idea of offering 20% off on the highest bill during the match hour.
Lords of Drinks at The Regnant has offers on bottles and food. “We are giving selected spirits bottle at 50% off or 40% off and a complimentary snack, buy two get one beer bucket, LIIT at buy-one-get-one and 35% off on bill on booking table in advance,” tells Arjun Singh Arora.
Novotel Lucknow at its rooftop bar has an interesting mix of food and beverages. “We have four beers at ₹1,200 plus taxes with one free starter. Besides, we are offering 50 percent discount on food and beverages,” said its general manager Rahul Nama.
