Hyundai has begun teasing the high-performance IONIQ 6 N

Hyundai Motor has released its first teaser images of its high-performance version of the IONIQ 6, promising it will “redefine the N driving experience once more.”

It’s been nearly four years since Hyundai announced a new “N” performance line of EVs, beginning with the IONIQ 5.

Hyundai Motor Group’s N and N Line performance sub-brands were just seven years old when the Korean automaker publicly announced it was reimagining the performance arms for an all-electric future. Despite being relatively new to the performance motorsport scene, the Hyundai N team has made quite an impression.

Hyundai confirmed the IONIQ 5 would be its first all-electric model to wear the “N” badge during the global premiere of the IONIQ 6. Since then, the passenger version of 6 has hit the market and has already seen a striking refresh, while the IONIQ 5 N has received several accolades and has become the fastest Hyundai model (gas or electric) to date.

I drove the BEV around Laguna Seca, and it remains one of my favorite models currently available, unlike anything I’ve ever driven. It helped me see the light with the (simulated) noise and rumble combustion go gaga for.

As anticipated for quite some time now, the Hyundai team has followed up with an N version of the IONIQ 6, and we have our first official images below. Could this high-performance sedan steal the speed crown from its IONQ 5 sibling?

The Hyundai IONIQ 6 N looks like another winner

Hyundai shared the four images seen above in a brief press release this morning, sharing that the incoming N sedan was developed for “high-speed stability.” Similar to the exterior of the standard IONIQ 6, the images showcase several smooth but semi-exotic exterior features like flared fenders and a larger wing spoiler.

Hyundai shared that customers can also expect to see a wider stance and lightweight wheels while sticking to the team’s three core performance pillars: “corner rascal,” “racetrack capability,” and “everyday sports car.” Joon Park, Vice President and Head of N Management Group said the high performance sedan will once again “disrupt the high-performance EV segment.”

Can’t wait.

Per Park, Hyundai intends to officially debut the IONIQ 6 N at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, scheduled for July 10-13, 2025. More to come!
