How Céline Dion’s Inner Circle Reacted to Titanique

A new day has come for Marla Mindelle following the success of Titaníque.

As the off-Broadway musical, a hilarious reimagining of 1997’s Titanic film with Céline Dion serving as narrator, closes in the United States and Australia in late June, Mindelle—who originated Dion’s character and co-authored the show alongside actor Constantine Rousouli and director Tye Blue—is reflecting on the production’s tremendous run.

“It feels really, really bittersweet,” the actress recently told E! News. “This was only supposed to be a three-month run. If you were to tell me that all of this would’ve happened in just three years, I would’ve laughed in your face, because it is incredulous.”

The show, which debuted at New York’s Asylum Theatre in 2022 before sailing over to the Daryl Roth Theatre and beyond, has even caught the attention of those close to Dion.

“Her music publishers, her lawyers, her backup dancers, her makeup artists, her physician from Canada, her sister went to see the Montreal production,” Mindelle shared. “And they all say the same thing, that she would absolutely love it.”
