UFC 2026 kicks off tonight with a highly anticipated battle between Justin Gaethje and Paddy Pimblett at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The event will be the first shown on UFC’s new home, Paramount+, which inked a seven-year, $7.7 billion deal with TKO Group last year.
Gaethje and Pimblett will fight for the interim lightweight belt, which is temporarily vacated while champion Ilia Topuria takes a temporary break from the sport. Gaethje held the interim UFC Lightweight Championship in 2020 after defeating Tony Ferguson in UFC 249, but lost it to Khabib Nurmagomedov later that year. Since then, he’s gone 4-2, most recently beating Rafael Fiziev in UFC 313’s Fight of the Night.
