FBI Increases Nancy Guthrie Reward to 0,000, Releases Details

The FBI announced on Thursday that it would increase the reward to $100,000 for information leading to the location of Nancy Guthrie or to the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in her disappearance.

The agency also released new identifying details about a possible kidnapper, describing the suspect as “a male, approximately 5’9” – 5’10” tall, with an average build. In the video, he is wearing a black, 25-liter ‘Ozark Trail Hiker Pack’ backpack,” the Phoenix bureau of the FBI posted on X.

The bureau has received over 13,000 tips since Savannah Guthrie‘s mother was reported missing on Feb. 1, and it said the description might help narrow down the tips.

The description was obtained from a forensic analysis of the Ring camera video from Guthrie’s front door . On Tuesday, the FBI released the first images taken from the Ring camera, which showed a masked man with a backpack who was armed with a gun. The video appeared to be captured just before the camera was disabled.

Nancy Guthrie was reported missing on Feb. 1, and the Pima County Sheriff’s Department declared her disappearance a crime on Feb. 2. Sheriff Chris Nanos said that he believed Nancy Guthrie did not leave her house “on her own” after investigators found “concerning” evidence at her Arizona residence.

Also on Tuesday, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department told ABC News that a person had been detained for questioning in connection with the case and that authorities were preparing a search of a location in relation to the detainee. However, that person was later released.

Patel wrote with the release of the photos, “Working with our partners – as of this morning, law enforcement has uncovered these previously inaccessible new images showing an armed individual appearing to have tampered with the camera at Nancy Guthrie’s front door the morning of her disappearance.”

Savannah Guthrie on Monday posted a video to her Instagram begging for the public’s help in recovering her mother.

“We believe our mom is still out there,” Savannah Guthrie said in the video. “We need your help. Law enforcement is working tirelessly around the clock trying to bring her home — trying to find her. She was taken and we don’t know where. And we need your help.”

She continued, “So I’m coming on just to ask you not just for your prayers, but no matter where you are — even if you’re far from Tucson. If you see anything, if you hear anything, if there’s anything at all that seems strange to you — that you report to law enforcement. We are at an hour of desperation, and we need your help.”
